Last week I made a delicious and cheap stew that is perfect
for those super cold nights. It is called
Beer & Sausage Stew and the recipe is as follows...
Ingredients
2 lb red potatoes, chopped
1 cup celery, chopped
1 onion,chopped
Italian sausage (sliced)
1 tsp black pepper
4 cups chicken broth
12 oz beer of choice (I use Yuengling)
Directions
Set a slow cooker to low and then add the
first 5 ingredients. Gently pour in the chicken broth and beer and let cook on
low for at least 8 hours.
Cooking tips!
Experiment with adding a bay leaf, white pepper, oregano or
parsley for a slightly different twist. For
a creamier stew, add 4 oz of cream cheese during the last 30 minutes before
serving.
Finally, this stew reheats very well and makes some stellar
leftovers!
